There are many different reasons why plastic is a big problem for our community. One reason is that plastic is not BIODEGRADABLE! It is EVERLASTING and can not be broken down. This means that plastic is all over our planet.
The main reason why this is a problem is because plastic is killing all our sea creatures.
The birds that swoop down to eat and feed thier chicks are picking up little plastic bits thinking they are food. That means the baby chicks are dying from eating plastic.
Another reason why this is bad, is because of the stench that the rubbish is making. This pollution creates holes in the ozone layer. The ozone layer is very important. It protects our planet from space rocks or meteors.
The turtles that swim in the sea think that plastic bags are jellyfish. They eat the plastic bags which makes them die.
So this means that plastic is a big threat for our sea creatures and our environment. DON'T YOU AGREE??
