Cooking & Gardening

Here at Dawson school, we are very fortunate to be a "Garden to Table" school! Past and current students have worked hard to plant many fruits and vegetables.

Cooking and Gardening Lessons
For each lesson, classes are split. One half of the class head into the gardens and practise many gardening skills. They forage for vegetables and fruits, they harvest, plant seedlings etc. Once the gardening students have collected enough ingredients, they drop them straight to our fantastic kitchen.

The other half of the class are there in the kitchens, studying new recipes and collecting equipment and larder ingredients ready to start cooking. Once the gardeners have dropped off the fresh produce - that's where the magic happens!
